Podcasting Workshop – An Introduction to Audio Podcasting

Using Audacity on your PC

Garage Band

Including a complete workshop that the kids can do on making a podcast of a poem (easily adapted to other KLAs and all done for you!!)

Remember not many schools actually use the WHOLE podcasting process which includes hosting the files somewhere that can generate RSS feeds. Most schools are happy sharing the files from their local server. There are a number of free options that you can use for this.

An old movie of mine which shows the whole process for an Audio Podcast onto MyPodcast.com

The best one (so far) running from our schools using full video is this Science one from Brigidine at Randwick. It lets you see the real possibilities!! It is hosted on Podbean and the teacher pays a small amount for a yearly subscription.

If you are really good Apple might host you on the iTunes Store (It is accessed most easily via the iTunes program) like this great one from The Podkids some of the “originals” a little one-teacher school in WA that is “world famous” now!!
